One of the biggest changes to Feesch in v3 is the navigation. Gone are the frameset and the dropdown menus that only worked in Internet Explorer, in their place is one of the most flexible and customisable navigation systems you could hope for!
The navigation is split in to two areas, Top Navigation and Left Navigation.
Top Navigation
This is the place for all the things that you use most.
Left Navigation
This is the place for all the other things that you, but not as often. It is divided into sections to keep things organised.
Navigation Schemes
Which items appear in those sections will depend on which navgiation scheme you have selected. There is a dropdown menu of schemes to choose from at the bottom of the Left Navigation area, the choices are:
- Classic (close to the navigation structure of v2)
- Minimal (just the essentials)
- Typical (A good selection)
- Full (everything)

You can choose between those schemes at any time, even if you are in the middle of posting a journal entry.
Custom Navigation
As well as those pre-defined schemes, you can create your own completely customised scheme! You can base it on one of them or start with a totally blank canvas.
You can put any of the Feesch menu items in any of the predefined sections, in whichever order you want. You can also create your own sections and you can even create your own items! You can create links to your friends profiles (very easily via your favourites) which will even use their customised icon if they have one. You can create links to any URL, including external websites like eBay, BBC and Google. You can choose to open them in the same window or a new window.
Shrinking Navigation
You can hide the left navigation (
) to increase the size of the main area, ideal for viewing big journal entries for example. If you rarely use the left navigation, you can hide it and then "pin" (
) it in place so it will be hidden by default, though you can still reveal it when needed.
Editing Your Navigation
If you want to create a custom navigation, start by clicking the pencil at the bottom of the left navigation. You will then be given a choice of which scheme to base it on, choose whichever scheme is closest to what you want.
You are now editing your left navigation. To add items to your navigation, drag them from the "Available" area on the left to the "Selected" area on the right. To Remove an item, you can either drag from right to left or just press the minus button.
To change the order, simply drag it to where you want it to be. Please note that all selected menu items must be placed in a section.
To change the top navigation, click the
in the toolbar (
for the left navigation). This works exactly the same, though you can also add items by clicking the plus button. Note that if you have more than 7 items in your tap navigation, the labels will be hidden and you'll just see the icons.
To add your own custom menu items or sections, click the
in the toolbar. In the top area you can create new items and in the bottom area you can create new sections.
